Giving back to the community and helping bridge the gap between amateur athletes and elite athletes is one of Govender and his staff at the Wanderers Sports Medical centre’s main focuses. The centre has previously donated fitness equipment worth R10 000 to locally based Fairways Primary School in Illovo.

“When the request was sent from the cricket club, without a second thought 11 Medical First Aid Kits were posted from The Wanderers Sports Medical Centre to Chatsworth United Cricket Club,” expresses Govender.

The staff, practitioners and clients of the centre, aim to continue to endeavour and assist even more going forward. “The aim is to help as many cricket teams as we can in the amateur levels with a Medical Aid Kit that can treat those kids that may get injured during a cricket game. Communities are the fraternities of life,” added Govender.

The Wanderers Sports Medical Centre supplied by Origin Fitness was founded by Govender who has assembled medical and aligned professionals with a vision of creating winning athletes, bridging the treatment and conditioning gap between professional and amateur athletes, as well as creating a healthier society at large through the promotion of physical literacy and sport skills development.
