Watch: Netflix Releases Trailer For King Of Boys: The Return Of The King

Recently, The King Of Boys universe exploded as fans were told that the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit movie has evolved into a seven-episode series and will be launching on August 27th. Today, Netflix released the official trailer for King Of Boys: The Return Of The King.

Created by Kemi Adetiba, the political/crime thriller revolves around Eniola Salami’s relentless quest for power. King Of Boys: The Return Of The King kicks off with Eniola’s return to Nigeria after a five year hiatus. The gangster’s brazen move forces friends, foes, allies and detractors to show their cards with explosive consequences.

The trailer release coincides with the launch of Netflix Nigeria’s Official Facebook Page @NetflixNaija/facebook alongside the recently announced mobile only monthly subscription plan of 1,200 Naira, Netflix is making it easier for Nigerians to access their favorite Nollywood films and television shows.

King Of Boys: The Return Of The King launches on Netflix on August 27 2021, but first, here’s a glimpse into the nail-biting intrigue and cutting-edge drama coming your way.

Makanaki ( Reminisce) Odogwu Malay (Ill Bliss ),Aare Akinwande ( Akin Lewis), Sade Bello ( Osas Ighodaro), Ade Tiger ( Titi Kuti) and President Mumusa (Keppy Ekpeyoung) reprise their roles from the first movie. New additions to the cast include First Lady Jumoke Randle (Nse Ikpe Etim) , Reverend Ifeanyi (RMD) ( Reverend Ifeanyi) , (Dapo Banjo( Efa Iwara) , Adetola Fashina (Deyemi Okanlawon, Odudubariba (Charly Boy ) and Governor Tunde Randle (Lord Frank).

The film was critically acclaimed for its gripping storyline and has remained on the list of highest grossing Nigerian films till date. Sola Sobowale and Adesua Etomi-Wellington also won the 2019 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for ‘Best Actress In A Leading Role’ and ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’, respectively.
