The 26-year-old midfielder Xola Mlambo has been linked with a move to Pirates since the beginning of the season and now Pirates have officially confirmed the news which is now subject to a medical according to a statement that was released by the club which reads:

Orlando Pirates has finally announced that they have reached an agreement with Bidvest Wits for the signing of midfielder Xolani Mlambo.

‘‘Ten Ten’, as the 26-year old is known, will be a valuable addition to the Buccaneers midfield.’

Mlambo is yet to play an official PSL match for Wits in 2018, or feature in any of Gavin Hunt’s matchday squads so far this year. In the first round he made just seven appearances for the defending champions which is a clear indication that he was no longer in coach plans.

His performances for Wits contributed to the club winning the Absa Premiership, MTN8 and Telkom Knockout trophies last season but since then he has fallen out of favour.

Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic side are expected to make further announcements as the club looks to bolster the squad as the Absa Premiership season enters its final stretch.

Transfer deadline is on January 31st, 2018.
