A concert residency means she’ll be touring around all the branches of the Emperors Palace. Unlike the American version where stars such as Celine Dion and Lady Gaga have residency in Las Vegas only, she won’t be stationed at one location.

Speaking to Move! an excited Zahara shared: “I’m the first to do it and we’re still finalising the deal. I’m extremely excited about it.”

Zahara explained that she got a call from Emperors Palace to have a chat and this is how talks about the deal came about.

Zahara’s cousin and manager, Oyama Dyosiba said they’re quite excited about how things are turning out for the singer.

“Zahara is growing as an artist and she appeals to everyone from young kids to gogos,” he said.

Oyama explained how Zahara has been through a lot.

The multi-award-winning Afro-pop musician claims she is owed millions of rands by her former record label, TS Records. She said she was underpaid for her performances while still under the label.

The muso has sought legal advice on the matter and has instructed the media to speak to her lawyers about it.

“We’ve opened a new window of opportunities,” Oyama said.

Because the deal is still being negotiated, Oyama could not divulge how much the Mali singer will be making from it. However, he did reveal that it will be for a period of five years starting in 2020.

He clarified that she will not be performing every day or weekend and that they will draft a calendar on when you can go watch her perform and where.

“We’re very excited about this,” he concluded.
