Busiswa owes promoter R10 000

Poet and performer Busiswa is not backing down after being accused of owing a Port Elizabeth promoter R10 000. Busiswa is no doubt one of the most iconic performers of our time.

Ian Rockman from Irock Productions claims Busiswa was paid the amount to perform at the Irock Festival late last year but bad weather forced the event to be halted. He claims they then verbally agreed that Busiswa would perform at another gig in the same area.

“Busiswa was booked for the event and was fully paid. She already had another gig in PE and asked me to find a secondary gig for her, which I did. The people from the first event covered her flight and accommodation, the arrangement was that my driver would wait for her to finish at the first event then drive her to my festival. But, unfortunately, the heavy rain forced us to shut down and I then called to let her know,” Ian told Tshisalive.

When DRUM asked Busiswa about the matter the Lahla hitmaker said she didn’t want to comment but made it clear that she wasn’t the one at fault. “Did he tell you that he’s the one who cancelled the show?” she said before hanging up.
