Melinda Bam Graces cover of Women’s Health

Women’s Health announced that former Miss SA and TV personality Melinda Bam will be its March cover star.

After spending three gruelling months getting into kick-ass shape for the eighth season of Tropika Island of Treasure, Melinda says she’s stronger and fitter than ever.

According to Women’s Health Magazine, Melinda weighs more now than she did when she won Miss SA. “I weighed five kilos lighter than I weigh now, but I feel strong and healthy…I can pick things up and run and squat and throw things and climb things and I can carry my own body weight,” she says

Melinda trained six days a week for three months. And while she was already cardio fit, she changed up her routine to get ready TIOT8.

Weight training and swimming became part of her routine for the first time ever. “I thought heavy weights were a girl’s arch-enemy, but it ended up being my best friend!” she says

Trevor Noah bags SuperSoul Sunday interview with Oprah

The Daily Show host Trevor Noah announced over the weekend that he was part of Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations recently.

Noah was interviewed on Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations in front of a live audience at New York’s legendary Apollo Theatre.

Oprah discussed Noah’s memoir, Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, as well as the current political climate in the United States.

They discussed both having grown up using an outhouse. She said, “You never get over that smell.” Noah recounted a rumour from his childhood that a child had fallen into the pit toilet. “I was sure that had happened!” he said, pointing out that his grandmother still lives in the house he was brought up in, and still uses the outhouse, although it now has modern plumbing.

Distruction Boyz stole Omunye

Durban’s popular gqom duo, the Distruction Boyz have been accused of stealing Omunye track. The Distruction Boyz duo consists of Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi and Zipho “GoldMax” Mthembu.

According to Zalebs, this all started as a rumour that Distruction Boyz’s summer smash ‘Omunye’ sounded too similar to DJ Lag’s own composition called ‘Trip to New York’.

A forensic copyright investigation has reportedly found that the tempo, key signature and instrumentation on sensational gqom hit Omunye is similar to another song that had dropped three months before Distruction Boyz released their version, City Press reports.

The Distruction Boyz, however, deny the theft. Instead, the link between Omunye and Trip to New York can be found in the Cape Town producer the Distruction Boyz say they bought the song from, DJ Mphyd.
