DJ Sbu has shared how much of a pivotal role Robbie Malinga played in not only his career but the career of many other artists.
During an interview with SABC new, DJ Sbu mentioned how much of a versatile and giving person Robbie was, especially when it came to nurturing the talent of other artists.
“He’s the greatest producer of all time in this country, there’s two of the highest producers of all time in this country and that’s him and Bab’ Chicco Twala. Robbie Malinga produced for everybody, from Hip Hop to Afro-Soul, Afro-Pop, Kwaito, House music. He’s responsible for my career, he was my musical mentor, he was a musical mentor to a lot of people.” DJ Sbu said.
According to Zalebs, DJ Sbu further stated that Robbie was involved in almost all of his musical projects and even worked with former Kwaito star – Sbu Maloya from the TKZee family, HHP, Kabelo Mabalane, Naima Kay and many other artists.
“He’s responsible for my musical hits, the music opened up a lot of doors for me, and it’s because of his contribution and he has done that for a whole lot of people unselfishly, he never wanted the spotlight, he’s always been behind the scenes, he’s always guided, musicians.”
