DreamWorks Africa Announces First Original Production Inspiration Station Africa

NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer today announced the commission of Inspiration Station Africa, the first-ever original live-action production for the DreamWorks network in Africa. Comprising six 22-minute episodes, production begins this month in Cape Town, and the show will premiere weekly from 13 January 2023 on DreamWorks (DStv channel 304) and Universal+.

Join hosts, South Africa’s newest youth presenters, 14-year-old Tanaka and 11-year-old Aaron, as they make their way to the heart of DreamWorks, in Inspiration Station Africa. Across six episodes, the new series will explore the creativity behind DreamWorks Animation’s award-winning series and movies. Each week, a talented team of roving young correspondents will be on the ground in Johannesburg and Cape Town discussing topical themes with local kids. Inspiration Station Africa takes viewers on a journey of discovery, drawing on a world of fun, facts and knowledge intertwined with the stories explored by our beloved DreamWorks characters.

DreamWorks launched on DStv (channel 304) in March 2022, welcoming subscribers to the fantastical world of fan-favourite characters and their epic adventures and offering a slate of Emmy® award-winning, original television series, including: All Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, Dragons: Race to the Edge, Dawn of the Croods, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants and more. The channel also presents a slate of programming for two to five-year- olds, DreamWorks Junior, including the DreamWorks’ Dragons Rescue Riders and Noddy Toyland Detective.

Inspiration Station Africa will air weekly from Friday 13 January 2023 at 17:00 on Fridays (with encores on Saturday at 08:30 and 16:30, and Sunday at 09:00 and 19:30 CAT on DreamWorks Africa DStv channel 304).

Inspiration Station Africa will also be available to stream on Universal+ after airing on DreamWorks Africa, exclusively via DStv.
