e.tv will broadcast the fourth annual South Africa Hip Hop Awards on Thursday, 31 December at 22:50 PM.
The star-studded award ceremony, gives respect to Hip Hop artists, dance crews, fashion and brands that have played a significant role in elevating the Hip Hop community. This year’s award ceremony was themed “Africa by Nature”. The awards were hosted by the dynamic duo, J. Boboza and the skhothane Comedian Pule who kept the crowd in stiches with their satirical skits.
“e.tv is proud to showcase this annual Hip Hop spectacular event. Local Hip Hop is at its peak and we are thrilled to have extended the partnership with the SA Hip Hop awards for another year,” said Monde Twala, Managing Director for e.tv Channels.
Rappers AKA and Ricky Rick emerged as the top winners for the night. Aka led with five wins for Best Collaboration, Best Digital Sales, Most Valuable Artist, Video of the Year for “The Saga” and Milestone of the Year. The Milestone of the Year award was given to both AKA and Cassper Nyovest.
Other winners for the night include; Nasty C for best freshman, Okmalumkoolkat for Mixtape of the Year and Tweezy for producer of the year.
The AKA and Cassper “beef” also plays out throughout the show. Catch the dramatic awards ceremony on Thursday 31 December at 22:50PM on e.tv also available on eHD channel 104 on OpenView HD and 194 on DStv. The premier will start at 21:30PM on Beatlab, channel on 500 available on OpenView HD.
