Huawei Freebuds 3i: waterproof, good design and sound, active noise cancellation, but still low price

As more and more cell phones abandon the 3.5mm headphone jack, true wireless headphones are becoming increasingly popular with young people. The advantages of true wireless headphones over traditional wired headphones are obvious, as they are not only easier to use, but also better support mobile devices once they are free of cables. Today we are talking about the HUAWEI FreeBuds3i wireless headphones that were released some time ago. The third generation of Huawei’s flagship wireless headsets has been improved in terms of sound quality, connectivity, range and more, and also offers active noise cancellation. Please see below for more information.

The design

Let’s start with the exterior, which you can see at a glance. Like many similar products, the HUAWEI FreeBuds3i comes with a charging case with a round design. The surface of the case has a glossy finish and feels very delicate. Let’s look at the headphones. The FreeBuds 2’s original “gooseneck” has been removed and the Huawei FreeBuds 3 are basically the same shape as the wired headphones that came with the Huawei phone, with a vertical cylinder shape. The weight of the individual headphones is 4.5 grams, so they don’t feel heavy and have the feeling that they fill the whole ear without squeezing. As for the color scheme, in addition to the ceramic white version, there is also a carbon black version available. Personally, I prefer the Ceramic White color scheme, which is a bit more subtle. Of course, whether it looks nice or not is a subjective matter, so just choose based on your own preferences. The charging port is located at the bottom center of the case and uses the popular Type-C connector, which means the device can share a charger with most phones, making it easy to charge. There is also an indicator light on the right-hand side of the charging connection, which you can use to read the current charging status of the housing. The Freebuds 3i are ergonomically shaped true wireless headphones with flexible silicone and active noise cancellation, which are even waterproof thanks to IPX4.

Sound quality

I compared the listener with the Soundcore Life P2. “Reference CD’s” from Flim & the BB’s, titles: “Tricycle” and “Hopeland” as well as Lama’s chants “Hope for Enlightenment”. Flim & the BB’s render the sound core less powerful and with a little less bass. Instead a clearer sound, less dull. The Soundcore Life P2 failed because of the Monot’s monotonous prayer song, which was performed in a deep voice. The left earphone signaled with a “creak” that it was “at the stop – volume reduced from 80% to 50%, the” creak “remained. The Huawei play more powerfully, more precisely and with more bass – this is particularly clear when noise canceling is switched on. Both earphones are already sealed off from the outside anyway. I’ve been an avowed headphone buyer for decades! I am constantly examining the technical details in order to make the best possible purchase I have had a Huawei phone for a year now and I am delighted with the quality. Choosing these headphones was a breeze! The sound quality is phenomenal.

The loading

It’s worth noting that the HUAWEI FreeBuds3i supports 2W wireless super-fast charging, although it requires a charging specification of 5V 500mA or more. Alternatively, you can charge the headset with a phone that supports reverse charging. From our practical experience, in addition to the HUAWEI Mate20 Pro, P30 Pro, Mate30 Pro and other Huawei cell phones that have the reverse charging function, other mobile products that have this function are also compatible. The battery life of the HUAWEI FreeBuds3i headset is 4 hours when fully charged and 20 hours when using the charging case. However, there are many factors that affect battery performance and everyone’s usage habits are different, so specific battery life will vary, just use this as a reference.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it has good sound quality but also highlights the range and connectivity of the product. In addition, the active noise suppression of Huawei freebuds 3i can also be used for normal use, if you do not value “silence” too much.
