Luna Florentino is on a crazy wave right now. Two weeks ago, Luna was featured on veteran hip hop personality DJ Switch’s latest single, #OnTheWay alongside Dee XCLSV and Maraza. Luna is not only on the hook, but also produced the beat under his production alias, The Urban Lunatic. #OnTheWay has been earning rave reviews on mainstream social media and it’s starting to gain momentum on the airwaves.
Yesterday, Luna’s incredible recent work was rewarded with a 4-page feature in the latest copy of Africa’s leading hip hop magazine, Hype Magazine. He then capped off a memorable day (and month) by releasing the cover art and release date for his eagerly anticipated mixtape, Florentino Mariachi which drops on September 4th.

Luna Florentino is a South African rapper and producer from Rustenburg, North West. As a producer and mixing engineer he goes by the alias, The Urban Lunatic. Still only 21 years old, Luna has already worked with the likes of Rouge, Ganja Beatz, Maraza, Tweezy, Red Button, Felix Morton (USA) and Oshea (USA), and is mentored by hip hop personality, DJ Switch.
His list of notable achievements includes having some of his instrumentals played in the MTV vs. MTV Base DJ Battle and performing on the main stage of the biggest hip hop festival on the continent, Back to the City. 2017 has also seen Luna Florentino perform at a number of major venues across the country including Zone 6 Venue, Cocoon, Skyline, Mary Fitzgerald and Harem.
