NBA Players Have Some Interesting Hobbies

Some of the best online casinos can keep everyone busy and engaged, but other people are looking for something to do apart from it. You would think that any player that is a member of the NBA would stay busy enough, but that’s not always the case.

NBA players are pretty open about how they spend their free time, and some have some interesting hobbies worth discussing. NBA players tend just to want to unwind and relax when they head home for the day, and there are some good hobbies to accomplish that.

Some hobbies tend to show up over and over with groups of players, while others tend only to be enjoyed by a small group of people. Here are some of the most exciting hobbies that NBA players have and the players that enjoy them.

MJ is Known For Gambling

Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time, and part of the reason was that he simply never took a day off. Jordan didn’t want to go home and relax, and there were plenty of stories about him staying out all night long.

Since Jordan was highly competitive, he always had to be doing something that involved competition. Air Jordan’s favorite hobby was gambling, whether it was in a casino or just on the team plane after a game.

Jordan also loved playing the game of golf, and he would famously gamble on his rounds on the course. Other NBA players don’t always bet while playing, but you’ll find a large group of basketball players that love to spend time on the course.

Basketball and Bowling?

There are some basketball players that simply can’t turn off their competitive fire, so they are always looking for a new sport to get into. Because basketball players don’t have a ton of energy after spending it all on the court, visiting the bowling alley is a perfect activity to do.

Chris Paul is one of the NBA stars that love to bowl, and he has put up some pretty impressive stats at times. Bowling isn’t a game that is only enjoyed by NBA stars, though, as athletes from other sports love to gamble as well.

NBA players love to set up charity bowling tournaments during the offseason, and Paul usually claims to be the league’s best bowler. It won’t be long before other NBA stars are going to try and beat him, though.

All About the Rap

The hip-hop culture is tied closely to the NBA and the sport of basketball, and several players have tried to break into the music industry on their own. You won’t hear many NBA stars belting out tunes or playing an instrument, but they will try their hand at rapping.

Some of the best players in the history of the NBA have gotten caught up in the rap scene at some point. There is a pretty big contingent of current NBA stars that are trying to become rappers, including Damian Lillard.

There are plenty of NBA players that spent the majority of their life in a culture that was focused on rap, and they just couldn’t avoid it. There hasn’t ever been a grammy-winning basketball rapper, but that could ultimately happen at some point.

Can’t Stop Gaming

The first few hobbies on the list might be shocking for you to read about, but there is one hobby that is extremely popular and common throughout the league. Many NBA players head home from the gym and go straight to firing their gaming consoles.

The style of games enjoyed by NBA stars could change from player to player, but most are at least doing something online. Several NBA players actually play NBA2K and then play as themselves when they are competing online.

What’s fun for fans is that you can usually follow along or watch NBA players as they are playing some games online, and it’s a fun way to interact with them. NBA teams travel with gaming consoles at the ready, so they can set these up in the hotel to play.
