Pilani Bubu the self-proclaimed ‘jazzy folk soul’ artist best exemplifies the complementing of organic music and authentic style. Her music is novel and has evolved into a unique fusion of genres jazz, blues, folk and funk – old souled but yet still so catchy.
Sweet Love, is a song about the yearning and the manifestation of love. Which is quite a relevant start to her forthcoming album Warrior Of Light, which talks to the evolution of her journey in finding herself and her creative self-stemming from her previous heartbreak album: Journey Of A Heart.

Sweet Love follows Pilani Bubu’s previous single titled Miss Understood, produced by RJ Benjamin, which was play listed on 25 radio stations across South Africa.
Pilani Bubu wrote the song while camping out in the Pyrenees in the South of France, as part of a collaboration project – Nothing Concrete, Humanitarian. On a glorious summer day, Miss Bubu felt heartbroken no more, ready to love and ready for more.
The talented pan-African and international folk-Soul and Jazz singer is no stranger to the music scene having graced the big stages of Drum Beat Festival, Grahamstown National Arts Festival, The Orbit Jazz Home of Jazz, Winnies Soul and Jazz (South Africa), Miliki Private Bar, FBN Conference, Women Rising Concert (Nigeria), Thursday Night live at Choices (Kenya), JamRock Friday’s (Ghana), Cafe Istanbul, Irvin Mayfield Playhouse and Jazz in The Park (New Orleans) just to mention a few.
Pilani Bubu has studied Musical Theatre at the New York Film Academy, Interior Decorating Certificate with Inscape Design College. Before becoming a musician and entrepreneur; Pilani Bubu worked in Marketing & Creative Industries for 8 years and has a degree in Bcomm: Law, Marketing & Business Management from University Of Pretoria, with a certificate in Marketing Research Principles from Georgia University.
