The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment dates for August 2023. The following grants will be paid on the dates indicated:

SASSA will also be paying out the Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant in August. The SRD grant is a temporary grant that was introduced to help South Africans who were struggling financially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The SRD grant will be paid on the same dates as the other grants.
SASSA will be using its usual payment channels to pay out the grants. This includes bank accounts, Post Office outlets, and pay points. Beneficiaries can check their payment status on the SASSA website or by calling the SASSA call centre.
The payment dates for August 2023 are subject to change. SASSA will update its website and social media channels if there are any changes.
How to Check Your SASSA Payment Status
There are a few ways to check your SASSA payment status. You can:
- Check your payment status on the SASSA website. Go to the SASSA website and click on the “Payment Status” tab. Enter your ID number and date of birth, and then click on the “Submit” button.
- Call the SASSA call centre. The SASSA call centre can be reached on 0800 60 10 11.
- Check your payment status on the SASSA app. The SASSA app is available for download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
If you have any problems with your SASSA payment, you can contact the SASSA call centre. The call centre is open from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
