SASSA Payment Dates for September 2023

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment dates for September 2023. The payments will be made as follows:

  • Older Persons/ Pensioners Grant: Tuesday, 5 September 2023
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 6 September 2023
  • All other Grants: Thursday, 7 September 2023

The payments will be made into the bank accounts of all beneficiaries who have registered with SASSA. If you have not yet registered, you can do so at any SASSA office.

Types of SASSA Grants

  1. Older Persons Grant (OPGP): This grant is for South African citizens and permanent residents who are 60 years of age or older and who are not able to work.
  2. Disability Grant: This grant is for South African citizens and permanent residents who are 18 years of age or older and who have a disability that prevents them from working.
  3. Child Support Grant: This grant is for South African citizens and permanent residents who are the primary caregivers of children under the age of 18.
  4. Care Dependency Grant: This grant is for South African citizens and permanent residents who are the primary caregivers of children under the age of 18 who have a severe disability that requires full-time care.
  5. War Veterans Grant: This grant is for South African citizens who served in the South African Defence Force during the Second World War, the Korean War, or the Border War.
