The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has recently disclosed the schedule for disbursing payments of the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant throughout the 2023/24 fiscal year.

For the upcoming months, SASSA has communicated that beneficiaries who have been approved for the month of August will undergo processing from the 25th to the 31st of August 2023.
“Funds will take about 2 – 3 working days to reflect in their client’s account after the payment has been processed.” – Sassa said
Throughout this period, beneficiaries are strongly advised to check their status on the SRD website to ascertain the precise date when the payment will be deposited into their bank accounts.
During pay week clients are encouraged to view their status on the SRD website for the exact date that the payment will be made into their bank accounts.
SASSA has clarified that after the payment processing is complete, it will take approximately two to three business days for the funds to be visible in the beneficiary’s account.

About the SRD Grant
The R350 SRD grant is designated for individuals aged 18 to 60 who are South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Special Permit holders. To qualify, they should lack adequate financial resources, not be recipients of existing social grants, be ineligible for UIF payments or not contributing to them, and must not be receiving financial assistance from any other channels.
