The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) pays out grants to disadvantaged people in South Africa who need financial assistance. These grants include children’s grants, the older persons grants, disability grants and the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
R350 SRD grant beneficiaries may collect their money at selected supermarkets such as Boxer, Shoprite, USave, Pick n Pay or Checkers stores.
Beneficiaries of the permanent social grants can receive their Sassa grant payments on their Sassa card, via CashSend or directly into their bank account.

The Sassa Grant Payment dates for 2022 are as follows: Older persons grant – 3rd to 4th of each month 2022, Disability grant – 4th to 5th of each month, Child Support grant – 6 to 8th of each month.
October 2022:

- Rest of the Sassa grants: Wednesday 5 October 2022
November 2022:
- Older person’s grant: Wednesday 2 November 2022 – This includes any grants linked to this account

December 2022:
