Siyabonga Zubane Gomora Actor Sdumo Passes Away

Siyabonga Zubane, popularly known as Sdumo from Gomora, has passed away. TshisaLIVE has confirmed that the 23-year old Gomora actor died on Saturday, 07 May 2022.

Award-winning actress and fellow cast member, Connie Chiume, who plays Mam’Sonto, confirmed the passing news of Sdumo from Gomora to TshisaLIVE saying the production had just sent them messages announcing Zubane’s tragic death.

Chiume said she was devastated by Siyabonga’s sudden passing.

“We are so devastated on why do we keep losing our young kids, our future leaders, talented people like this. What’s going on, especially in our industry? We don’t know what to say, what to do, something needs to be done.” – She said

There is no confirmed cause of death at the moment though it is believed the young actor took his own life.

According to DRUM, Siyabonga’s family have confirmed that he died at his rental home in Soweto. According to the mother of his first born child, known only as Kgothatso, she arrived in Soweto to find that Siyabonga had passed away.

“Yes it is true, Siya is no longer with us,” she told Drum.

“He passed away this morning. The people he lives with say they found him in bed. I can’t give much details as yet but the father of my child is no more.” – She said

Zubane previously acted in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Isibaya.

Tributes have already started pouring in on social media.
