SRD reconsideration status check link is https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration. If your application was declined for any period and you had zero income in the preceding month, you may submit an application for reconsideration.
Please note that SASSA is not taking new applications for the Sassa SRD grant at this time. SASSA will publish the date on which this website will be opened for new applications and reapplications.
How to Apply For SRD Reconsideration
- Go to srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration
- Enter your ID number and the phone number you used to submit your application
- Click the button that says “send pin” and follow the instructions.
How to Perform SRD Reconsideration Status Check
To check out the SRD reconsideration status, follow these steps:
- Go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration
- Enter ID number and your cellphone number
- Then click “Send Pin”
- You will receive an SMS to your phone number containing an OTP code and enter the pin
- The Sassa reconsideration page will be displayed
- Choose the month you want to check status for
- You may have to wait for some time if the reconsideration status shows “pending”

Sassa SRD Reconsideration processing for the period May 2020 to March 2022 has been completed and no new applications will be considered for this period.
If you were an applicant of the Sassa SRD R350 grant and submitted an appeal between May 2020 and March 2022, go to srd.sassa.gov.za and navigate to ‘Reconsideration status check: May 2020 to March 2022‘. Sassa will ask you to submit your ID number and the cellphone number you used when you applied for the R350 grant.
