TRESOR announced as supporting artist for Seal’s upcoming South African tour

Multi-platinum award-winning songwriter and soul singer, TRESOR, was announced earlier this week by Big Concerts as the supporting artist for Seal’s upcoming 3 city South African tour.

This announcement comes just after TRESOR took home the South African Music Award for “Best Pop Album” at the ceremony in Durban this past weekend.

TRESOR released his debut album ‘VII’ in September last year and the critically acclaimed project includes collaborations with AKA, The Soil, Khuli Chana and Beatenberg, as well as featuring the hit singles “Mount Everest”, “Never Let Me Go”, “Zambezi” and the newly released “Cachet”.

“I am truly honoured and overwhelmed by everything that has happened with my debut album. Winning this award is a major milestone and I’m truly grateful to South Africa for the incredible support and for giving me the platform to express myself artistically. To everyone who contributed to the album, thank you from the bottom of my heart. A major thank you goes out to my dedicated team at Vth Season, Sony Music Africa and Sheila Afari PR. Thank you for believing. Thank you for pushing the music! To all the fans: words cannot express how grateful I am. Watch this space, an epic musical journey awaits!” shares TRESOR.

Benza from Vth Season calls ‘VII’ a true definition of a dream project. “Where else can you get a debut album with features from 4 SAMA winners? This is a true testament to the love that the industry and fans all over Africa have for TRESOR. He is on the way to being a huge star. We are elated to be accompanying him on this journey.”

Since his arrival to South Africa, TRESOR (French for “treasure” and pronounced “Trezor”) has performed with the likes of Eddie Grant, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Freshlyground, Prime Circle, Goldfish and Lira, to name a few. He signed a flagship worldwide deal with Ultra Records at the end of 2015. More recently, TRESOR has also collaborated on hit singles with The Kiffness (“Evergreen”) and Da Capo (“Speed of Sound”), proving he is a versatile artist that is breaking down genre barriers in South Africa. He is also currently an active ambassador for the Nelson Mandela Children Hospital Fund.
