TWO DAY EVENT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

Darielle Robertson, owner of leading event organisation DnA Event is to host a two day Event Management Workshop for matric students on October  2  & 3 from 09:00 to 17:00 at The Styling Shed in Stellenbosch.

The workshop is a precursor to the launch of Robertson’s Winelands Event Academy in the first quarter of 2018 which will see the start of an eight week, part-time course which, Robertson says, “will allow young people to experiment and see which direction of eventing they’d like to go into without committing to a full three year diploma.”

The course will include workshops on Event Management, Festival Management and Wedding Planning and attendees will also learn – in both theory and practice – areas of event management such as budgets, team management, planning permissions, sponsorship negotiation, Marketing, PR and social media planning. Robertson aims to bring in experts to speak to and work with students in more specific focused areas such as weddings, food and catering, wine, flowers and much more.

The Winelands Event Academies will initially take place at the Styling Shed in Stellenbosch and at The Stack in Cape Town.

Says Robertson: ” Our lecturers and experts are all currently – and successfully – working in the events industry so really know what they are talking about  and they are all young, fun, trendy and plugged in.”

The two day course – which is limited to 20 people – costs R3,500 per person and includes welcome tea and coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and bubbles at the end of the day. There is also a beautiful coursework book for delegates to take home and use as their go-to manual.
