AKA passed away on 10 February 2023 in Durban. He was 35 years old. Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was shot dead in a drive-by shooting in Florida Road, Durban. His bodyguard, was wounded, while another man, believed to be AKA’s friend was also shot dead. The motive in unclear.

The incident took place outside the restaurant Wish on Florida Road just after 10pm on Friday night, 10 February 2023. According to a witness at the scene, Forbes was shot while standing on the pavement when gunfire rang out shortly after 10.00pm SAST.
