Zwai Bala and Melanie Bala have announced they have separated and are to divorce.
The couple, in a joint statement on twitter, said that although they’ve always “conducted our lives as privately as possible”, it was important to respond to speculation on social media.

Zwai and Melanie, who married in 2008, said that they “remain committed to jointly raising our amazing children in a happy and healthy environment and will continue to be great friends.
“This will be our only comment on a private matter.”
Zwai Bala shot to fame with legendary South African Kwaito group TKzee, alongside fellow members Tokollo Tshabalala, Kabelo Mabalane, when they released two huge hits singles Palafala in 1997.
Zwai, the brother of R&B singer Loyiso Bala, was the first black member of the previously segregated Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School, which he joined in 1988.
