Abuti Fill Up is known for filling up various stadium venues in the country using his famous #FillUp concept. Cassper, who is preparing to fill up Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in December, has been embroiled in an on-going debate over his alleged trademark of the phrase, ‘Fill Up’.

Cassper has accused Benny Mayengani of stealing his idea, after he successfully filled up the 20 000-seater Giyani stadium this past weekend. Lerato ‘TLee’ Moiloa, who is Cassper’s manager, said he approached Mayengani before the concert on Saturday, urging him to desist from using the phrase.

According to several reports, Moiloa claims that Nyovest trademarked the ‘Fill Up’ phrase over a year ago.

Speaking on The Drive with Moflava and Masechaba Ndlovu on Metro FM, Cassper explained that while he may not have a matric qualification, he has made sure to educate himself about the music industry. He clarified that he only owns the rights to the phrase ‘Fill UP’ in relation to live performance events and not in every day use.

Cassper also took to Twitter, saying: “A lot of artists die broke because of the issue of ownership, they are mocked by fans & media yet when we educate ourselves, own our talent& ideas we’re attacked. I hope you’re learning through me. We’re about to #FillUpMosesMabhida on the 1st of December. Tickets at Computicket!!.”

“I really thought I would be under the fire for protecting my Concept but I have received so much support from fans & different individuals. Ownership is a lesson I’m still learning. I am trying to protect my ideas and build a sustainable career. Hoping for a positive outcome.” – Cassper said in another tweet.
