Sbahle Mpisane And Nondu Mabizela Third To Leave #TIOT8

Sbahle Mpisane and Nondu Mabizela

After last week’s shock elimination which saw Team Coral (Melinda Bam and Kelly Gunnell) being eliminated, Katlego Maboe (in last night’s episode) delivered another Slenda Twist which saw Team Blue, Sbahle Mpisane and Nondu Mabizela, as the lowest scoring team, and ultimately, eliminated from the show.

Nondu struggled during a game of ‘skim the bottle’ and was the last consumer contestant to knock down her three Tropika targets scoring one lonely point. The celebrities then tried their hand at the game which saw Sbahle gaining two points as she placed fourth in the challenge.

The second challenge, named ‘How Much Junk Do You Have In Your Trunk?’, saw Nondu and Sbahle’s unlucky streak continue as Nondu found herself in last place again bagging another single point, while Sbahle found herself in fourth position yet again scoring another two points.

The elimination challenge saw Sbahle, Khanya, Nondu and Lihle fight for their lives in a challenge titled ‘Hang In There’ in which the four contestants had to literally hold on to their place in the competition. After a nail-biting few minutes, Sbahle fell into the water and lost her place in the competition. A few moments later, Nondu fell in and Team Blue became the third team to be eliminated.

Top Gear sets a new Guinness World Records title for fastest tractor

This week’s Top Gear sees Matt LeBlanc revolutionise British agriculture by creating a high-speed tractor – and ahead of the episode – The Stig has set a new Guinness World Records title for Fastest Tractor with a speed of 87.2mph in a uniquely modified version of the farmer’s favourite ride – the ‘Track-tor’.

LeBlanc and Chris Harris also make an attempt to break the world record but viewers will have to wait until Wednesday at 8pm on BBC Brit (Dstv Channel 120)to see if they achieve it or not – however their tame racing driver has already set the bar high by smashing the previous record (80.87mph – in Vuojärvi, Finland held since 19 February 2015) whilst driving the ‘Track-tor’ on the set of Top Gear on Wednesday, March 14th.

Engineered at the Top Gear Agricultural Technology Centre, the ‘Track-tor’ is a 500-brake horsepower, Lamborghini-style orange coloured farming automotive Frankenstein – powered by a 5.7 litre Chevy V8 engine and supported by 4-wheel brakes, adjustable air suspension and 54-inch tyres. And in true Top Gear style – it’s also fitted with a push button start, a barometer and a wellington boot and spade rack.

Melinda Bam And Kelly Gunnell Eliminated In Shock #TIOT8 Episode

Tropika Island Of Treasure Melinda Bam and Kelly Gunnell

The new season of Tropika Island Of Treasure is in full swing and after Tumi Voster and Mark-Anthony Bingham were the first to be eliminated, front-runners Melinda Bam and Kelly Gunnell (Team Coral) exited the show in what has become one of Tropika Island of Treasure’s most shocking eliminations.

Melinda and Kelly have been dominating the challenges throughout the season but after the leaderboard was cleared, their luck turned. Last week, the two received three points in a general knowledge challenge and the team couldn’t seem to pick themselves up. After being on the losing team of the human foosball challenge in last nights’ episode, Melinda and Kelly were the first team to complete and ultimately win the next puzzle challenge. But, after a tie-breaker challenge between competitors and #TeamBlue contestants Sbahle Mpisane and Nondu Mabizela, the two found themselves in the elimination challenge.

The elimination challenge saw bottom three teams Team Coral (Melinda Bam and Kelly Gunnell), Team White (Khanya Mkangisa and Mpande Buthelezi) and Team Yellow (Nay Maps and Rudi Witkowsky) test their puzzle-solving skills yet again and, shockingly, Team Coral came in last. The elimination came as a shock to the remaining contestants and is a reminder that anybody could leave at any time.

Tumi Voster and Mark-Anthony leave Tropika Island Of Treasure

Tumi Voster & Mark-Anthony Bingham

It’s been a nail-biting season of Tropika Island Of Treasure so far and this week, the first elimination took place. After receiving the lowest number of points throughout the first round of challenges, 5FM presenter Tumi Voster and Mark-Anthony Bingham were booted off the island.

Naturally, the duo is gutted about being the first to leave the island and their bubby personalities are sure to be missed. The teams continue to battle it out for a share of that smoooth R1 million. However, with a variety of Slenda Twists on the way, the next few episodes of Tropika Island Of Treasure promise to be entertaining.

Q&A With Tumi Voster & Mark-Anthony Bingham Shortly After Being Eliminated:

What surprised you most about yourself being on TIOT and the island?

Tumi Voster: If you told me five years ago that I would be on a reality show, I would’ve probably not believed you. I learned that I can do whatever I set my mind to doing. I learned to be more open to new and exciting experiences! Everything that happened on that island was a surprise every single day but I was prepared and ready every single day to face all the challenges. I am happy that I got to show my fans or followers a different side of me they’ve never seen before as I am quite a private person.

Mark-Anthony Bingham: What I learned the most was that I was able to allow a female to lead as I’m always the dominant one, and I learned to listen – not just rush in to situations.

Top Gear team takes on some off-road toys and tests the all new McLaren 720S

McLaren 720S Top Gear

Join Top Gear team Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris as they head into the Californian woods to test some amazing off-road toys such as dune buggies, dirt bikes and even personal tanks – and hunt for Big Foot.

Rory Reid invents the sport of reverse camera racing, while Chris puts the new McLaren 720S to the test to see if it’ll match up to its brother, the McLaren P1. Real race transponders were used in order to gain accurate lap times during this segment while the track temperature later in the day rose to a sweltering 37 degrees! All in a day’s work for the Top Gear team, this week they are joined in-studio by guest, comedian Lee Mack.

A few years back, Chris Harris was the first journalist to bring together, on a single racetrack, the three fastest hypercars of the modern era: of McLaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918. That track, specifically, was Portimão, on Portugal’s Algarve coast. The fastest of the trio, in Harris’s annoyingly able mitts, was the McLaren.
