DJ Maphorisa and Nhlanhla Nciza help 2PM Djs realise their dream

Mafikizolo songstress Nhlanhla Nciza is mentoring two young women who are trying to break it into the music industry. With the assistance of Dj Maphorisa, well known producer, they’ve managed to create a single for Palesa Maakwe and Palesa Manne, well known as 2PM Djs.

With Nciza being a brand partner with Chivas Regal, both brands have awarded the two young women with a certain amount of money to kick start their music career.

“We’re giving them this cheque because now that they’ve started, there’s so much that needs to be done. As a musician, you have to work on your image, prepare for gigs, transport and everything and I hope this will cover all those costs”, Nciza said.

According to IOL, Nhlanhla learned about the women via social media, where they would always tag her and other musician to see the work they’ve done.

“Me and these young women are from the same township in Kagiso, west of Johannesburg. I noticed them because they would always tag me in everything they post until I realised that they have talent that needs to be taken out there”, Nciza added.

The music duo have always loved music, but because they “can’t sing”, djing was the best option for them.

“We went to study music at Fuse Academy and Dj Zinhle is one of the people we look up to. We’re very grateful for this opportunity and are excited to bring out the best music”, said Maakwe.

Their debut song is said to be released soon but in the meanwhile, they’re still learning about the do’s and don’ts of the industry.
