Greenleaf to premiere for the first time on South African television

For the first time on South African television screens across all broadcasters, e.tv will broadcast the highly-acclaimed Oprah Winfrey Network’s Greenleaf. The show will premiere on Thursday, 21 June at 8:30PM.

Greenleaf is executive produced by Oprah Winfrey and stars Keith David, Lynn Whitfield and Merle Dandridge. Greenleaf follows the unscrupulous world of the Greenleaf family, with their scandalous secrets and lies, and their sprawling Memphis megachurch with predominantly African-American members.

The series’ lead characters are Bishop James Greenleaf (David) and Lady Mae Greenleaf (Whitfield), who are the patriarch and matriarch of the Greenleaf family. Their estranged daughter, Grace Greenleaf (Dandridge), has returned home after 20 years following the mysterious death of her sister. Her return creates a whirlwind of drama for the family. Oprah Winfrey also plays the role of Mavis McCready, who is Lady Mae’s sister and Grace’s close confidant.

This show is exclusive to e.tv and South African audiences will see the show for the first time on the channel.

Green leaf will premiere on e.tv on Openview (Channel 104) and DStv (Channel 194) on Thursday, 21 June at 8:30PM.
