How to get proof of payment on Capitec App in South Africa? Automatically, when you send a Capitec payment, you will receive proof of payment from Capitec. You can get proof of payment from Capitec App and send it to the beneficiary. For some people who don’t want to receive payment notification as a form of proof of payment (PO), they select ‘none’ and they will never receive a payment notification from Capitec Bank. If you would like to receive a payment notification, you can select Email or SMS. Please note that a fee will be charged for each SMS notification. What is Proof of Payment?

Proof of Payment is a PDF document that shows that the applicable amount has been paid. A valid proof of payment from Capitec Bank should show the following recipient’s details:

  • Bank name
  • Branch code
  • Account number
  • Payment reference used
  • The amount paid to the recipient

Please note that SMS notifications are not a valid proof of payment.

How to Get Proof of Payment On Capitec App

Follow the steps below if you want to get proof of payment from Capitec App for any of your deposits that you have made from your Capitec bank account.

  • Step 1: Open your Capitec App
  • Step 2: Select ‘Pay Beneficiary’
  • Step 3: Select Beneficiary
  • Step 4: Click the 3 lines on the top right
  • Step 5: Select Payment History
  • Step 6: Select the payment in question
  • Step 7: Select the payment
  • Step 8: Click the Greater-than sign >
  • Step 9: Select ‘Resend Payment Notification’
  • Step 10: Send proof of payment to your email or beneficiary’s email address
