For some people who don’t want to receive payment notification, they select ‘none’ and they will never receive a payment notification from Capitec. If you would like to receive a payment notification, you can select Email or SMS. Please note that a fee will be charged for each SMS notification. What is Proof of Payment?
Proof of Payment is a PDF document that shows that the applicable amount has been paid. A valid proof of payment from Capitec Bank should show the following recipient’s details:
- Bank name
- Branch code
- Account number
- Payment reference used
- The amount paid to the recipient
Please note that SMS notifications are not a valid proof of payment.
How to Send Proof of Payment From Capitec App
Follow the steps below if you want to send a proof of payment from Capitec App for any of your deposits that you have made from your Capitec bank account.
- Step 1: Open your Capitec App
- Step 2: Select ‘Pay Beneficiary’
- Step 3: Select Beneficiary
- Step 4: Click the 3 lines on the top right
- Step 5: Select Payment History
- Step 6: Select the payment in question
- Step 7: Select the payment
- Step 8: Click the Greater-than sign >
- Step 9: Select ‘Resend Payment Notification’
- Step 10: Send proof of payment to your email or beneficiary’s email address
