How To Submit Your April 2023 R350 Grant Appeal

Sassa Grant Appeal: If Sassa declines your Sassa R350 SRD grant application, you have the right to submit an appeal if you don’t agree with Sassa’s decision. If you have successfully lodged an appeal for the special COVID-19 SRD grant, your application will be reconsidered and you will be notified of the outcome thereof. Successful Sassa appeals will be paid for applicable months. An SMS notification will be sent to you in due course directing you what to do next. Here’s how to submit your Sassa SRD grant Appeal.

How To Submit Your April 2023 R350 Grant Appeal

You may, within a period of 30 days but not exceeding 90 days, appeal SASSA’s decision to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).

Here’s how to submit your April 2023 R350 grant appeal on the srd.sassa.gov.za appeal site:

  1. Visit the Sassa appeal link https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals/
  2. Scroll down to the green bar that says ‘click here to lodge an appeal or check status’
  3. Click on it
  4. Enter your identification number
  5. Enter the cell phone number you used during the application process
  6. Click send “Pin”
  7. Once you receive the pin, you will be required to enter it and click “Submit”
  8. Select the month that you are appealing for
  9. Secret the drop-down arrow to choose the reason for your appeal application from the options provided
  10. Click “Submit” to complete the Sassa appeal application process

The Independent Tribunal will inform you of the outcome of your appeal electronically, within a period of 60 – 90 days from lodging of the appeal.

The Independent Tribunal is mandated to consider appeals in terms of section 18 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 read together with the Covid-19 SRD Regulations and will consider the appeal against the qualifying criteria as set out in the Covid-19 SRD Regulations. The Independent Tribunal will reassess the decision of SASSA against the available information at its disposal. The Independent Tribunal will endeavor to finalise the appeal within 60 – 90 days from the date on which the appeal was received and inform the appellant electronically of the outcome of the appeal and reasons thereof.
