Kgomotso Christopher has been appointed as Chair Of the Naledi Theatre Awards Board

Scandal actress Kgomotso Christopher has been appointed as Chair Of the Naledi Theatre Awards Board.

The Naledi Theatre Awards have been in existence for 11 years and are recognised as the Premier Awards event on the Gauteng Theatre Calenda.

Kgomotso said in an official statement, that she had been a part of the judging panel for the “Theatre for Children and Young Audiences.”

“The Naledi Awards are SA’s equivalent of the Tony Awards and in their fourteen-year history, I have had the privilege to contribute to the institution in various ways. Over the past five years, I have been part of the judging panel for the category of “Theatre for Children and Young Audiences”. In 2017 I joined the Board of Directors and I will continue to serve the Board, in my new role as Chair,” – Kgomotso Christopher said.

Kgomotso Christopher added that she has taken up the role and working alongside the CEO she is determined to grow the brand even further than it already has with its annual event.

“Working together with the CEO of the Naledi Awards, Dawn Lindberg, and the highly esteemed Board; I have no doubt we will enhance The Naledi Awards and ensure their continued growth. The Naledi’s will continue to celebrate and reward excellence in the Arts. Our vision is to ultimately expand the footprint of The Naledi’s, for it to make an impact in the Arts sector, beyond the annual awarding event.”
