Lalla Hirayama is set to cover the Oscar’s red carpet

M-Net Movies has landed a celebratoy spot on the red carpet at the landmark 90th Academy Awards taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on 4 March 2018. TV Host, actress, dancer and model, Lalla Hirayama will be the one making sure that movie fans across Africa experience all the glitz and glam.

The Academy of Motion Pictures and Science invited M-Net Movies to cover the furore and excitement of the event and popular M-Net Movies.

M-Net Channels Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard, expressed her excitement at achieving this feat, “you can imagine how broadcasters around the world are trying their luck each year to be part of this prestigious event. It’s a dream come true for M-Net Movies and Lalla and the team will be pulling out all the stops to represent our viewers and stand out from the crowd.”

Lalla already has her outfit on lock as she will be wearing a one-of-a-kind dress by famed fashion designer David Tlale.

“It’s still sinking in. We’re off to the Oscars in a few days! This has to be the highlight of my entire career. I’m so grateful to be given the opportunity to represent South Africa for the first time in Oscar history!” began Lalla, before adding, “there’s a lot of work to do leading up to the 4th of March but I’m ready to take it on by the horns. We have the most incredible team put together to ensure we deliverer the best South African content straight from the most prestigious red carpet event of the year. I hope I can make SA and Mnet Movies proud.”

Viewers will also have the chance to submit their Oscar questions, which may just be answered by Lalla on the night, on social media using the hashtag #AskLalla prior to her departure.

The M-Net Movies Oscars: Red Carpet Special, featuring Lalla will come your way on M-Net Movies Premiere at 20:30 leading into the 90th Academy Awards airing at 21:00 on M-Net 101.
