Metro FM radio news anchor Melanie Bala has finally spoken for the first time about her divorce from former TKZee member Zwai Bala.
Speaking with Gareth Cliff on Cliff Central, Melanie Bala opened up about calling it quits on their 9-year marriage saying “We were together for 17 years and who you are when you meet at 20-something is a lot different to who you are when you are 40-something. You grow. You change. You evolve.”
She said after the relationship became strained, she knew that they had to be mature about it and not stay in an unhappy marriage.
“It is about saying are you able to bring the best out of a person and when you are no longer able to do that, you should be mature enough to say: ‘You know what? Neither of us wants to be unhappy. I don’t want you to be unhappy.” She said.
Despite their divorce, Melanie and Zwai are still committed to helping their children grow. The veteran news anchor also added that she didn’t want to “spend a lifetime fighting”.
