Minenhle Jones (born Minenhle Dlamini, 7 July 1990), simply known as Minnie, is a South African on-air personality, actress and model. In 2010 she was selected as the new presenter for LIVE, a South African music show that airs on SABC 1.

Minnie Dlamini Education Background

She was born to Jabulani and Queen Dlamini in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. She had her early education at Northlands Girls’ High School before she proceeded to the University of Cape Town where she studied film, media, drama and economics.

In 2010 when she was studying at the University of Cape Town she was a presenter for ‘LIVE’ where she covered ‘Youth day’ and ‘World Cup celebrations’ shows. She gained famed as the host of Live, a music show in South Africa. Live, at the time was headed by Bonang Matheba, Tbo Touch, MTV VJ Sizwe Dhlomo and Phila Mazibuko. Her stay on Live was short lived, she and Phila Mazibuko moved on to another SABC 1 show, Mzansi Insider.

She later co hosted Mzansi Insider, a SABC 1’s lifestyle show. In 2012, she resigned from the show in order to pursue a career in acting.

In 2011, Dlamini was cast as Zintle Lebone on star studded M-Net’s The Wild, the show was new at the time and had enlisted the services of Shona Ferguson (Scandal as Alex), Tumisho Masha (Isidingo as Dumisani), Connie Ferguson(Generations as Karabo), Faye Peters (Generations as Vivian) among many others. Despite the star power on the show, particularly that of Connie Ferguson who had anchored Generations for over 15 years, it failed after two seasons and stopped production in 2012/13.

In 2012 Dlamini appeared as a guest judge on SABC 1’s Turn It Out and co-presented Miss South Africa. In 2013 she co-hosted Soccerzone with Thomas Mlambo until in 2016 when the show’s format was changed by SABC 1.

She has since co-hosted several local and international award ceremonies including the 14th Metro FM Music Awards, 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, the PSL Awards and the South African Film and Television Awards.

In 2010, Dlamini debuted as a film actress in Generations, a SABC 1 TV soap in which she made a guest appearance as Miranda.[12] She went on to play a lead role as Zintle Lebone in the soap The Wild and as Nosipho Bogatsu in Rockville.

She got married to Quinton Jones on July 8, 2017 in a traditional marriage in Glenn Hills, Durban North. On 16th September 2017 a white wedding was held at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West.
