Minnie Dlamini (born on the 7th of July 1990) is a South African actress, model and on-air personality. Popularly known as her nickname Minnie, the multi-talented celebrity became more popular in 2010 when she won the presenter search for LIVE AMP, a South African music show that plays on SABC 1 Mzansi fo Sho every Friday at 19:30 CAT.

Minnie Dlamini was born to Queen and Jabulani Dlamini in South Africa, Kwazulu-Natal Province, Durban. Minenhle attended High-School at Northlands Girls’ High School. After she completed her matric, she was accepted by (UCT) University of Cape Town where she enrolled in media, film, drama and economics.

Minnie Dlamini first appeared on Generations in 2010 as a film actress. She made a guest appearance as Miranda. She also went on to play as Nosipho Bogatsu in the soap Rockville and a lead role as Zintle Lebone in the soap The Wild.

In September 2011, Minenhle Dlamini was proclaimed as the new face of LEGiT, with the Minnie-Series, her own fashion range.

On-air personality Career

Minnie was a presenter for LIVE AMP while she was furthering her studies at UCT. In June 2010, she made her first television appearance while covering “World Cup celebration” and “Youth Day” shows. She then went on and co-host SABC 1’s lifestyle show, Mzansi Insider. She then gave up her her position from the show in 2012 so that she follows her acting career. In 2013, Minenhle changed her focus to sports television broadcasting where she co-hosted Soccerzone with SPORTS presenter, Thomas Mlambo until in 2016 when SABC 1 changed the show’s format. Since then, she has co-hosted many local and international award events including the South African Film and Televison Awards (SAFTAs), the PSL Awards, the 14th Metro FM Music Awards and the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2016.

The talented Dlamini founded the Minnie Dlamini Foundation in 2014. Her charity organization was founded with the goal of assisting young girls in South Africa have better admission to good education. In mid 2015, she took to Twitter and announced that the foundation will be funding 29 young students with their tertiary tuition fees.

Minnie Dlamini is now married to her long-time boyfriend Quinton Jones. She was once dated a soccer star Itumeleng Khune. The relationship was very public and it didn’t last that long.

Minnie Dlamini Jones got married in Cape Town in September 2017. The couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in July. Fellow TV personality and former Miss South Africa, Basetsana Julia “Bassie” Kumalo, A-listers such as Anele Mdoda, Hulisani Ravele, Somizi Mhlongo and Unathi Msengana, to name a few.
