5FM Radio Host and Radio Traffic Presenter, Ms Cosmo, received a prestigious Liberty Radio Award in the category Best Traffic Presenter for her traffic presenting role on the 5FM Roger Goode Show. The glitzy award ceremony took place this past Saturday at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The Liberty Radio Awards (formerly known as the MTN Radio Awards) has awarded over 450 presenters, producers, shows and stations since its inception in 2010 and continues to be a benchmark platform of recognition in the industry. Ms Cosmo’s win is testimony to her being highly rated by a panel of industry experts.
Ms Cosmo who officially joined the Roger Goode Show as a traffic presenter last year, quickly built a reputable name for herself on the show and the industry acknowledgement of her winning the Liberty Radio Award in the category Best Traffic Presenter speaks volumes of her talent, versatility and ability to learn fast; as she came out tops against more seasoned traffic presenters.
This is not the first time that Ms Cosmo has received acknowledgement for her work on radio. Ms Cosmo is a previous recipient of a South African Hip Hop Award in the category Best Hip Hop Show for her weekly show The Stir Up on 5FM which she designed and conceptualized herself.
Just off the back of winning Best Traffic Presenter at the Liberty Radio Awards, Ms Cosmo will now be presenting the traffic in the morning as The Roger Goode Show now takes the morning breakfast slot on 5FM every weekday from 6 – 9am. The #Reshuffle5FM was announced this morning.
Ms Cosmo’s award and new timeslot on 5FM add to the recent success Ms Cosmo has been enjoying with her debut single Connect featuring Nasty C, Rouge and Kwesta, which has been dominating urban radio charts over the past few weeks including taking the coveted number #1 spot on 5FM’s Hip Hop Top 10 at 10, as well as the coveted number #1 spots on both YFM’s Urban Top 40 Chart and The Bomb Chart.
