New urban musical sensation Big Star, has just released visuals to his smash hit single Understand in the form of a music video which debuted on Channel O this morning and is available online now.

Big Star is making sure that everyone understands that 2016 is his year indeed. Following the hugely successful release of his single My Year featuring Aewon Wolf, Big Star returns with another chart topping single which has seen the likes of Metro FM, Highveld Stereo, Capricorn FM, YFM and 50 other radio stations playlist the track.
Understand is a song about the struggles that come with the hustle; dealing with family, perceptions and expectations. Big Star has once again proven his versatility as an artist with this new single and his lyrical prowess, effortless flow and catchy chorus cannot be ignored.
The Understand music video was shot in Johannesburg and Durban and shows a visual representation of Big Star’s journey – from on the rap-battle reality TV show The Hustle to being on the road, performances, meeting fans, building a brand, fame, fantasy and reality. The music video edited by Josh Motaung and executive produced by Benza, Vth Season’s Managing Director, take on a new unseen video format for the South African market which is Stop Motion, this also communicates the growth and risk taking of Big Star as an artist.
Fast becoming a household name in the hip hop scene, Big Star brings a fresh approach to “new school” hip hop and his cross over market appeal will ensure South Africans from all walks of life get to enjoy his music for a long time to come.
