The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has previously explained that there’s no fixed SASSA Payments dates for the Special Covid-19 SRD grant. The SASSA Payments for SRD grant needs to be verified in the system each month, whether the client is still qualifying to receive the grant.

“Qualified beneficiaries get paid monthly, SASSA payments dates are reflected on the system and can be checked at https://srd.sassa.gov.za. Beneficiaries are reminded that this grant is not meant for people who are employed, receive alternative income or registered from UIF and NSFAS system” – SASSA said
According to SASSA, by verifying the SASSA R350 grant applications mean testing of the beneficiary, SASSA is trying to fight fraud and also ensure that only qualifying people get the Special Covid-19 SRD grant.
As mentioned above, the agency does not pay on a fixed day of the month. SASSA encourages all beneficiaries to wait for an SMS confirming that their money is available before going to the South African Post Office.
How to Check SASSA R350 Grant Status
- Step 1: Visit the SRD SASSA Website
- Step 2: Scroll down to “Application status”
- Step 3: Click on “Click here to check online”
- Step 4: Enter your SA ID Number and Phone Number used to submit your SASSA R350 Grant application
- Step 5: Then click “Submit” to check your SASSA R350 Grant Status

- Mondays: 084 & 089
- Tuesdays: 080 & 085
- Wednesdays: 081 & 086
- Thursdays: 082 & 087
- Fridays: 083 & 088
