This notification via SMS is expected to be dispatched in the final week of each month, following Sassa’s unveiling of its updated R350 grant payment approach. This approach focuses on conducting verification checks for the Sassa SRD grant.
Sassa has made public that approved applicants will start receiving R350 grant payments from 22 September 2023. The processing of R350 grant payments for September 2023 will be in progress until 29 September 2023.
During the designated pay week, clients are advised to visit the SRD website to ascertain the precise date when the payment will be credited to their bank accounts.
It’s important to emphasize that while Sassa provides information about the disbursement of R350 grants to beneficiaries, there might be a brief waiting period before the beneficiaries can utilize their funds. This waiting period is due to the fact that it takes a few days for the funds to reflect in their bank accounts.
Following the processing of the payment, it typically takes approximately 2 to 3 working days for the funds to be visible in the client’s account.
Paseka Letsatsi, the spokesperson for Sassa, clarified that all applications for the R350 grant undergo a verification process to ensure that the applicant meets all the eligibility criteria. Despite beneficiaries only submitting a single application for the R350 grant, Sassa conducts a verification check every month before disbursing the relief grant to them.
Sassa’s verification checks typically conclude towards the latter part of the month. Sassa has communicated that beneficiaries with approved applications for the R350 grant will receive their social relief grant payments from the 25th of the month until the end of the month.
