The late Robbie Malinga has been nominated at the 24th annual South African Music Awards (SAMA). Robbie died on Christmas Day last year after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
His last self-titled album got a nomination in the Best Afro Pop Album category less than a year after his passing.
The iconic musician is set to face Mafikizolo (20), Zahara (Mgodi), Ntando (Mayibue) and Blaq Diamond (Inqola) in the category.
During his musical career, Robbie won two SAMA awards; Best Remix for Indlela Yam in 2015 and Best Produced Album for Zahara’s Country Girl in 2016.
