What Does “Declined” Mean On SASSA Status Check?

If you check your SASSA SRD R350 application status and it says “Sassa Status Declined”, this means that should your application be declined, you will have the right to appeal the SASSA decision by lodging an appeal with the Department of Social Development for each month your application was declined. The process to lodge an appeal will be provided with the notification that your application has been declined.

How To Apply For SASSA R350 Grant

  • Step 1: Go to SASSA website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za
  • Step 2: Scroll down until “How do I apply for this SRD Grant”
  • Step 3: Click on “Click here to apply online”
  • Step 4: You will then be redirected to this URL https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19b/auth
  • Step 5: Enter your mobile phone number and click “Send SMS”
  • Step 6: Follow the prompts to complete your SASSA R350 Application process

Alternatively, you can apply for R350 grant via WhatsApp. Save the SRD SASSA Grant WhatsApp number 082 046 8553 on your phone. Send a WhatsApp message to this number. Include important information such as your name, surname and ID number. You will then receive a message explaining the next steps for the R350 grant application process.

You can also dial *134*7737# to apply for the SASSA R350 grant or send an email to [email protected], which automatically sends back a form to fill in.

You only have to apply once via this web site or the above WhatsApp number and not many times on every channel. SASSA will only process one application received from each applicant.
