Skeem Saam’s Cornet Mamabolo opens village library

Thabiso Cornet Mamabolo better known as “T-bos” on Skeem Saam is one of the most loved actors in Mzansi. The Skeem Saam actor has achieved his dream by building a library in his village at Maripathekong, GaMolepo in Limpopo.

Cornet told SowetanLIVE that he and the team from the Cornet Mamabolo Foundation are set to launch the library on Friday. They have already received the shelves for the books and the library will be ready by tomorrow.

The library, which took Cornet three years to complete, is situated at Boshega Primary School.

“We needed books that will speak to the youth and will be fascinating for the actual community, because we are dealing with a community that is not used to reading, or used to going to the library.”

Mamabolo partnered with the University of Limpopo, the National Library and a few people to find books that would be fitting for the library.

“Education is the basis of everything. I don’t think I would be where I am and speak the way I am speaking if it was not for education. The idea is for them to get a taste of it,” he said.

Cornet Mamabolo also took to social media where he expressed how he feels about his new project.

“Years down the line this pallet shelves will be warn out… some books will be without middle pages & covers. There will be New technology & some of our machines will be stored in our archives. The library walls will be cracked.
However, You need to be assured though that GaMolepo will be a new community. We would have produced Entrepreneurs… successful youth in powerful institutions & positions, nationally and globally.

I put it to you now, CMF COMMUNITY LIBRARY is & will for the longest time be a true reflection of Youth’s revolutionary initiative. It’s a true reflection of a community in solidarity. It’s a symbol of others first before “I”

One day it will make sense to you. This part of me is called PRAYER (sic).”
