How To Submit Banking Details To Sassa

  1. Go to SASSA SRD Grant website
  2. Scroll down to “South African ID Holders” and click “click here to proceed”.
  3. Scroll down to “How do I change my banking details”.
  4. Enter your South African ID number.
  5. Click on “Submit”.
  6. Open the secure link you received in the SMS. This link will take you to a secure page where you can update your banking details.
  7. Follow the instructions carefully to enter your new bank account details. This will typically include your bank name, branch code, account number, and account holder name (ensure it exactly matches your ID).
  8. Double-check all the information you’ve entered before submitting.
  9. Once confirmed, you’ll receive notification from SASSA and your future grant payments will be deposited into your new account.

Should you select payment into a bank account, please ensure that you are the owner of the account. SASSA cannot pay your grant into another person’s bank account.

Should you select the money transfer option via one of the major banks, please ensure that the mobile phone number on which you received the SMS is registered in your name. SASSA cannot pay your grant into a mobile phone number which is registered to another person.
