Not only does Sun International’s 2022 Slots Royale Tournament promise to be a right royal affair, it will also make someone R1-million richer, with other players sharing in the spoils of a further R5.8-million in cash and rewards.
The six-week tournament kicked off at the end of February. The final will take place at Time Square Casino in Tshwane on 28 May 2022.
The points chase tournament will progress through three stages. First, the top three players on the leader board at each property will secure themselves a seat in the property finals. Tournament games will be activated on machines where players will compete for progressing through property quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
The top placed player at each of the 11 participating properties will win R100 000.
Between three and seven finalists from each property will qualify for the group finals. An additional wild card draw will give an opportunity to one participant eliminated at each property in the final heat another chance to get back into the Tournament. In total, 60 finalists from across the country will square off in the group final.
The top 10 players still in the contest will go through to the finale to battle it out for their share in R2.2-million that is up for grabs.
The winner will walk off with a cool R1-million while the first runner up will win R500 000, the third placed player will win R250 000, and the fourth placed will receive R150 000. The fifth, sixth and seventh placed will win R100 000, R75 000 and R50 000 respectively. A further R25 000 will be received by each of the eighth, ninth and tenth placed players.
