Thapelo Mokoena and Siyabonga Ngwekazi to host Red Bull Culture Clash 2017

Local celebrities Siyabonga “Scoop Makhathini” Ngwekazi and Thapelo Mokoena will be joining the impressive line-up of stars, fronted by headline artists AKADJ TiraPatoranking and Admiral & Jahseed, at Red Bull Culture Clash 2017.



The pair will host the event, bringing their wealth of entertainment knowledge and experience to the biggest sound system battle to hit South Africa on 23 September at Orlando Stadium.

Scoop’s brutally honest character coupled with Thapelo’s collected manner make them an ideal combination. Together they will be engaging with the four crews battling it out on the night, with each crew repping their respective genres – hip-hop, house, afro-beats and reggae – and keeping fans entertained between rounds. As it’s the reaction from the crowd that helps determine the winner, fans are in for a treat with Scoopand Thapelo injecting all their passion and energy into the event, promising even more entertainment on the night.

Over the years Scoop has built up an impressive reputation in the music and entertainment industry. His passion for hip-hop and street culture drove him to provide a platform for up-and-coming local artists to perform on and be heard on Siz n Scoop. More recently, his involvement in presenting The Hustle Season 2 has given him a taste of what’s to come during Red Bull Culture Clash. Legendary actor and presenter Thapelo is renowned for his presenting experience across multiple platforms, and maintaining the momentum during live performance productions.

Thapelo sees the event as an opportunity to unite the continent through music: “Scoop and I are your co-captains on this epic ship. Red Bull Culture Clash always knows how to bring together the masses in a unique and special way and this just happens to be the biggest get together of the year in my books.
