It’s official, very soon we won’t be seeing TV host, Thembisa Mdoda, on the hit Mzansi Magic show Our Perfect Wedding. We also heard rumours that there will be a presenter search to find her replacement.
Mdoda joined the show in November 2015 and has since been the face of OPW. At the time, she said she was ecstatic about joining the show.
“I love the show and what it stands for. I look forward to celebrating it with as many couples as I possibly can,” Mdoda was quoted as saying at the time.
Speaking to Destiny Mag, M-Net Head of Public Relations: Local Entertainment Channels, Nondumiso Mabece, confirmed this news earlier today saying that it was merely a case of Mdoda’s contract coming to an end.
“Generally, we bring in new presenters for different seasons. We are now trying to run an exercise to conduct an audition around the country so that we can find a person who can then become the OPW presenter,” said Mabece.
Head of Reality Programming for Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net Sphumelele Sibeko said the broadcaster was thrilled to have had Mdoda host the show. “Each season we introduce a new presenter and she is the perfect fit for the sixth season,” Sibeko said.
