BBC Lifestyle adds more local to it’s Line Up for 2023

BBC Lifestyle announced today its commitment to local programming with four brand-new local productions airing exclusively on DStv channel 174 Wednesdays at 8pm and Thursdays at 5pm up to the end of the year. The line-up includes Homegrown Tastes South Africa S2 with Lorna Maseko, Listing Jozi Season 2, the Great South African Bake Off Season 4 and Come Dine With Me South Africa Season 9.

Award-winning celebrity chef, Lorna Maseko has returned for a second season of Homegrown Tastes South Africa which continues Wednesdays at 8pm. Produced by the award-winning South African production company, Rapid Blue, the culinary expedition is back with 10 episodes including new famous faces, from Mpho Popps, Blue Mbombo, Sandile Mahlangu to Lucille Slade, breathtaking scenes off the beaten track and even more mouth-watering recipes from Lorna.

The South African property show that allows viewers to nosy into Jozi’s luxury properties – Listing Jozi – also joins BBC Lifestyle’s local line-up this year. Season 2 of the popular format will see the return of the 5 competitive agents as they hope to sell even more affluent homes and impress their celebrity clients. Audiences will also meet a brand-new agent and see if they have what it takes to keep up with the property market in the city of gold. The 10-part series starts on Wednesday 31st May at 8pm and is produced by South African production company PD Production.

Lorna Maseko meets Loot Love and Lucille Slade on Homegrown Tastes SA S2

Another local production to sweeten your 2023 is The Love Productions format Great South African Bake Off Season 4 which will once again be produced locally by award-winning production company Rapid Blue. The 10-part series, which will search for the nation’s best amateur baker, will be judged by chefs Siba Mtongana and Paul Hartmann and presented by Lesego Tlhabi and Glen Biderman-Pam. This creative competitive baking show is sure to provide tasty inspiration as amateur bakers pull out all the stops to impress the judges with their originality and skill, hoping to bake their way to the final. The new season will air on Wednesday 9th August at 8pm.

BBC Lifestyle’s ratings hit, Come Dine With Me South Africa S9 joins the line-up later this year. The hilarious cooking competition, narrated by the brilliant Dave Lamb, will bring the spice to Wednesday nights as South Africa’s most vibrant personalities put their dinner party hosting hats on and compete for the R10,000 cash prize.
