In 2016, Uzalo actress Thandeka Dawn King became one of the latest South African celebrities to receive the calling to become a sangoma and she answered it emphatically.
It’s been just over eight months since Thandeka Dawn King confirmed her status as a traditional healer and in an interview this week she revealed how it all came to life.
Thandeka Dawn King, who plays Lindiwe Mangcobo Xulu on Uzalo, spoke about how she was confused when she first received the calling, especially because it clashed with her existing spiritual beliefs.
“That was the most confusing time of my life because of the background I came from, which is Christian. People rushed to me and started praying for me but that didn’t help,” – Dawn King said.
However, after embracing her new spirituality, she has found new life.
