About Public Service Vacancy Circular
This Circular, except for December, is released weekly and features advertisements for vacant posts and jobs in Public Service departments. While issued by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), the content of the advertisements is not the department’s responsibility. Any inquiries regarding an advertisement should be directed to the relevant advertising department.
Directions to Candidates Applying For DPSA Vacancy
Candidates must submit their applications using form Z83, providing comprehensive details of their training, qualifications, competencies, knowledge, and experience. If necessary, additional information may be included on a separate sheet or CV. Applications should be forwarded to the department where the vacancy exists, with the reference number of the vacancy clearly indicated. Any inquiries about advertised posts should be directed to the relevant department, and not to the Department of Public Service and Administration. Applications must be submitted before the specified closing dates.

All employees must be informed about the contents of this Circular. Departments are responsible for notifying employees declared in excess about advertised vacancies. Assistance should be provided to potential candidates from the excess group to apply for vacancies and attend interviews as applicable. When vacancies are identified to promote representativeness, departments must adhere to the provisions of sections 15 (affirmative action measures) and 20 (employment equity plan) of the Employment Equity Act, 1998. Advertisements for such vacancies should emphasize the intention to promote representativeness and give preference to candidates whose transfer or appointment will further this goal. Candidate assessment and selection must align with relevant measures governing employment in the Public Service.
