etv Scandal! hits grand milestone

e.tv’s most popular soapie, Scandal!, recently hit a milestone with over 5 million adult (15+) viewers tuning into watch the episode broadcast on 23 November 2017. The episode reached an ‘AR’ measurement of 14.4, which equates to 5 007 428* adult (15+) viewers.

In the episode on the night, Quinton (Brighton Ngoma) and Hlengiwe (Nunu Khumalo) ended their relationship, due to sabotage orchestrated by Dintle (Mapaseka Koetle). The show’s popular storylines, represented by the tagline ‘There’s Always 3 Sides To A Story’ continue to resonate with viewers, with innovative story-telling keeping them hooked. Scandal!’s monthly ratings have been climbing every month throughout 2017, making it the most-watched show in the 7:30PM time slot across all channels.

December’s festive season storyline sees lies and deceit in full effect from the Langa wives as their efforts in putting one over another become deadly for an unsuspecting victim. Viewers will also be introduced to Ingrid’s mother who makes a surprise appearance for Wesley and his daughter in December. Will the family be closer after she comes into the picture or drift apart?

The show will kick off its 13th year of production in January 2018, with three of the cast members having been ever-present: Joyce Skefu, who plays Maletsatsi Khumalo, Sandy Mokwena, who plays Eddie Khumalo, and Kagiso Modupe, who plays Mangi Nyathi. With a social media following of close to a million followers across Facebook and Twitter, Scandal! is sure to create conversation and trend in the near future.
